Saxe MS Weekly: August 27-31

August 31, 2018

Dear Saxe Family,

This is the inaugural “Saxe Middle School Weekly”. We will be sharing events that occur at Saxe throughout the week and send them out each Friday. Topics will range from academics to recess and everything in between. It will begin with a quick write up, followed by some photos and blurbs that capture the action. I hope you enjoy the recap and a little insight into the goings-on at Saxe each week. You are also welcome to follow along during the week on Twitter by following, @SaxeMS.

It was an exciting week kicking off the 2018-19 school year at Saxe Middle School! We began by welcoming staff back with three Professional Learning days. Our staff were engaged and got right back to working with their colleagues in their departments and across disciplines.

Thursday brought about excitement and enthusiasm for the new school year as we opened the doors and welcomed back our 1,300+ students! You are welcome to read our “First Day: Welcome Back” letter, here.

Of course, we need to thank our custodial, facilities, technology, and administrative assistant teams for having the building looking great and ready to go. A special thanks to our PTC for their tireless efforts over the summer as well. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to our “home”! It is truly a team effort and I am continually amazed at the “well-oiled machine” that is Saxe Middle School.

It is my hope that you are able to relax and spend the Labor Day weekend with family and friends. Enjoy!

Best,

Dave Gusitsch

Principal, Saxe Middle School

Fifth-graders at arrival on day 2 of 728 days as Saxe students! Smiles and excitement are everywhere!

From Mr. Bedard:

While many 8th graders returned a few inches taller, not much has changed… They are still the great group of eager students that completed 7th grade in the spring.

Mr. Bedard was able to visit all 8th-grade classes and was happy to report that he saw lots of smiling faces as teachers welcomed them into their classrooms. Teachers and students are getting to know each other while creating a safe, welcoming environment that allows all students to reach their full potential. We are looking forward to a great year, stay tuned for more information. We are SAXE!

Stay tuned for: One-Second Everyday, Saxe MS
