Saxe First Day – 2019-20

August 29, 2019

Dear Saxe Family,

It was a great first day at Saxe Middle School and so nice to see the building come back “alive” today! Your children entered the school with smiles and anticipation and we are delighted to have them with us for the 2019-20 school year. A huge thanks to everyone involved in having the building ready and looking great for us to warmly welcome our 1,330+ students today!

I was fortunate to be able to quickly visit each classroom today to say “hello” and let every student know that we are excited to have them back at Saxe. With each class that I entered, I was thrilled to see students participating in activities that “broke the ice” and allowed teachers and students to get to know each other, all while having fun! This is the foundation of strong relationships that lead to wonderful, well-rounded educational experiences. I truly believe that many of our students “Hopes” were acknowledged, and maybe even met today. Please feel free to check out some photos and a quick video that captured some of the Day 1 action, below.

Throughout the year if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at: david.gusitsch@ncps-k12.org or 203.594.4564. We also update our website regularly and share out the latest news, photos, resources, and upcoming events in our Saxe Weekly, each Friday

I look forward to seeing you throughout the year at various PTC and schoolwide events.

Wishing you all a fantastic year!

Sincerely,

Dave Gusitsch

Principal, Saxe Middle School
