Dear Saxe MS Family,
As we approach the end of our first full month of the 2026-27 school year, we would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication that has gone into making this such a successful start. Our staff is committed to bringing their best each day; our students show up prepared and ready to engage & learn; and our parents have been nothing but supportive since day 1. These are the ingredients that make our school community special, and we appreciate you taking a moment to scroll through, read, or listen to some highlights from this week.

National Custodian Day
While we salute them each year on this date, we are beyond grateful for our custodial team EVERY day! Thank you for all that you do to keep our school community running at the most optimal level!
Open House
We held our Saxe MS Open House this week & it was nice to see the building full, with an electric vibe! It’s always great to see our building filled with hundreds of parents, walking the hallways, following their child’s schedule, & interacting with our staff. Thanks to all who attended!

In addition to traversing the building & sitting in core classes during Open House, our Saxe MS staff had great displays & informational packets for parents to learn about, & better understand, their child’s well-rounded experience in school each day!
And, some terrific student artwork on display, too!
What else makes our Open House special? Our Saxe PTC! Thank you for helping “fuel up” our staff with such delicious offerings before the evening officially kicked off… It was delicious & you made our Saxe MS staff VERY happy 🙂

Last, but certainly not least… One of the most rewarding parts of our Open House evenings is seeing the pride our Saxe MS students take in helping parents navigate our enormous building. Here are just a few of our “ambassadors” who helped make the evening a great success – thank you!
Physical Education
We have had an awesome start to the school year in PE! Over the past few weeks, students have been working hard to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable participating, taking safe risks, and trying new things. Through a variety of activities and games, we have focused on teamwork, collaboration, communication, and encouraging one another. It has been wonderful to see students working together, celebrating each other’s successes, and learning the importance of being great teammates and including everyone. We are excited to continue building these skills and a positive PE community throughout the year!
8th graders taking on the Dangle Duo! Students are collaborating with a partner, working on trust and risk-taking, and relying on their classmates to belay and support them along the way.
Picture Day
Picture Day at Saxe is always an exciting day! It was so fun to see our students walking around the building & posing for their pics, looking and feeling their best!
And, it can be a FUN day, too! Is there anyone who has more fun than our Art teachers?!
Jewelry Club
What a lovely start to the Jewelry Club! Girls are making colorful bracelets and earrings.
