A Special Thanks to our Saxe PTC

Thanks to our Saxe PTC for helping our staff enjoy Teacher Appreciation Week while feeling valued and appreciated! Every day included a treat to put a smile on our faces and continue to build on our positive learning community.

Technology Education

Technology Integration Specialists in our district, in collaboration with staff throughout the building, all work toward one main goal: That all students will graduate with the technological knowledge and skills to succeed in a dynamic and complex global society.

Jen Pacelli, Tech Integrator at Saxe, recently created a website to highlight what we do here, and to provide resources in order to help achieve that goal. This site offers tips and tricks, educational technology news, contact and calendar links, as well as the latest information on our ever-changing, highly innovative DesignLab. Feel free to check it out here and see what we have going on!

Around Saxe

A glimpse at some of the talented art pieces that are on display around Saxe. Be sure to check out the Challenges in Art Exhibition before the Orchestra Concert next Thursday (5/16)…

Revolutionary War Reenactment

It was interesting to watch students choreograph strategic plans for their “regiment” as they studied the Revolutionary War this week. This is a nice example of students “learning through doing” in an environment outside the traditional classroom setting and one they will most likely remember for years to come. Each side had their own approach, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top next week!

Thanks to our Nurses!

A message from our Saxe Hospitality Team on our wonderful School Nurses:

They dodge coughs, feel feverish foreheads, relax anxious kids, bandage bloodied knees, check hundreds of heads… Without batting an eye, they take care of our precious students and quite often faculty members as well.

Upcoming Events

Tonight (5/10)!

Community Event

Ms. Simmons is a NY Times bestselling author, educator, and consultant helping girls and women be more authentic, assertive and resilient. The workshop will give adults and daughters the tools to work together to reject “supergirl” pressure, overcome a toxic stress culture and become resilient leaders with healthy, happy and fulfilling lives. For more information or to register, please click, here.

Even our students got into the Teacher Appreciation action… Nice work, Michael!

Taking time to appreciate the sights around campus…

Have a great week!

* A special thanks to Mary Calabrese for the continuous stream of positive, optimistic quotes!
